We work with clients across a range of industry sectors for both import and export with Ukraine but our specialist area of expertise is within the agriculture sector. Below are three examples of our recent activity.
Export to Ukraine – Case Study
Our Client is an animal nutrition specialist and distributor of animal premixes and supplements to the pig, poultry and ruminant markets in the Ukrainian agricultural sector. UA-Connect sources and exports all of their product requirements from UK and European manufacturers of animal feed supplements and premixes.
What we do – UA-Connect manages the entire export process from arranging road transport, collection of the goods ex-works from our supplier’s factory gates and ensuring the efficient collation of the huge amounts of paperwork and certifications that are required for each and every shipment to Ukraine. Example paperwork which is required for each shipment includes certificates of origin, Defra certificates, veterinary certificates and we also provide translated copies of all this paperwork, which is essential for the smooth transition of goods from UK to Ukraine.
Import from Ukraine – Case Study
Our Client is a company that specialise in selling fine wines, champagne and spirits to both the trade and public. They choose wines from regions and specific grape varieties that would not normally be found in the high street supermarkets, which makes them the go-to company for wines and champagne.
What we do – With Ukraine being an up and coming country in terms of wine production, our client approached UA-Connect to help them find and source a Ukrainian producer of high end quality wines for import into the UK. UA-Connect undertook the task of finding the right partner for our client, to sit alongside their exclusive range of world wines. Having identified the preferred supplier for Chardonnay and Cabernet Reserve wines, we then began the process of transporting the wines from Ukraine to UK on behalf of our client.
UA-Connect arranged all of the export and import documentation for the wine, from Customs House certificates through to manufacturing certificates detailing the country of origin for the alcohol. We arranged for the bottles to be transported on trucks from the warehouses in the Ukraine and brought safely over and delivered to the client’s warehouse in Yorkshire. Copies of all paperwork are provided to the client for their records, and they get the added security of being able to bring the products they want into the UK without all the hassle that goes alongside doing this.
Planning and Logistics – Case Study
Our Client manufacture and supply cleaning liquids, powders and tablet products to suit all professional, retail and export cleaning and hygiene requirements. Catering specifically to the agricultural bio security market, they have a specific industrial use product, which is a broad spectrum animal health disinfectant with proven activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria and mycoplasma, lipophilic RNA & DNA viruses and hydrophilic RNA & DNA viruses, bacterial spores and fungal hyphae and spores.
What we do – Our client were already exporting their product around the world and had identified Ukraine as a potential new market for themselves, given the size of the agricultural industry there and the need for increased bio security initiatives. With no prior experience of doing business with Ukraine, they therefore approached UA-Connect because of our history and track record of working in Ukraine, specifically in the agricultural sector. Using our existing contact base, we identified and scoped out the potential market and opportunities that could be available to our client for their product. Following this scoping phase, we turned the plan into reality and guided them through the entire process of registering their product in Ukraine through to the first successful export of their product from UK to Ukraine in late 2016.
